Sea Shepherd and Activists Unite on Nov. 4 for the
"International Day of Protest Against the Japanese Dolphin Slaughter"

On Tuesday, November 4, 12:00pm local time, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and activists around the globe will join for an international protest to stop the Japanese dolphin slaughter recently exposed by Sea Shepherd and making headlines around the world. Sea Shepherd is organizing thousands of individuals and like-minded organizations to participate in the protests taking place in North America, South America, Europe, Australia & New Zealand.

Sea Shepherd volunteers and activists in at least 10 countries and over 20 major cities will converge on their local Japanese embassies and consulate offices to protest the cruel dolphin slaughter that takes the lives of more than 20,000 cetaceans each year. For more information and a complete list of the countries and cities please visit: www.seashepherd.org/events/protest031104.html

Participants will be protesting and gathering signatures on letters to the Prime Minister of Japan, requesting that the Japanese government put an immediate stop to their nation-wide dolphin hunt. This letter can be found and downloaded at the above event page link.

Sea Shepherd volunteers are still in Taiji, Japan, where they documented the slaughter of 60 dolphins on October 6th - the pictures and video can be viewed at Sea Shepherd's Taiji Dolphin Campaign Page: www.seashepherd.org/taiji/. Since the documentation and release to the media, Sea Shepherd volunteers have effectively disrupted the hunt, and the Japanese fishermen have been restricted to a kill of several small whales.

Despite fierce local opposition by the Japanese authorities, fishermen and merchants, Sea Shepherd volunteers will remain in the area as long as possible to prevent further dolphin slaughter, and to bring the hunt to a permanent end.
