Total number of different small fishing boats fishing today in the ZTA: 0.

Total number of different small fishing boats fishing today in the ZTA Buffer Zone: 2.

Up to 13 small fishing boats were seen during the night in the north, west and southwest area outside the ZTA; three of them were inside the buffer zone.

Around 11:30 we spotted a plastic barrel floating in the water with a line attached to it in the south-central part of the ZTA, not far from where some small boats were seen during the night in the buffer zone. We contacted the Navy and by 12:25 they were retrieving the barrel, which was attached to a chano net. Twenty minutes later they had pulled in all the mesh, but the anchor/float line snapped because of the tension; it was probably trapped somehow. We were able to go onboard the Navy vessel and collect information on the number and species of animals entangled.

At 20:00 we started to see small boats south of the ZTA, that stayed until the end of the day. We confirmed by drone that two of them, in the buffer zone, were fishing.
