Sea Shepherd Long Island is a newly formed chapter established in January 2019. The Long Island Chapter is a unique group of individuals, which includes marine biology students, veterinarian technicians, experienced marine wildlife rescue volunteers, and dedicated ocean conservationist.
Our goal is to educate Long Islanders about Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s mission and share different ways they can get involved to support our campaigns.
Events on Long Island are held in Nassau and Suffolk County. Some of our past events include beach cleanups, tabling at the Long Beach Farmers Market, Long Island Vegan Extravaganza Fall Festival & East End Maritime Festival, Sea Of Shadows movie screening at the Long Island Maritime Museum & Stony Brook University, and the International Film Festival at South Hampton Arts Center.
The Long Island Chapter is open to dedicated volunteers who are enthusiastic about Sea Shepherd’s mission to defend, conserve, and protect our oceans, marine wildlife, and their habitat.
