Did you know that Cuvier’s Beaked whales are the deepest diving mammal in the world? They can dive to depths of 3000 meters!

Guadalupe Island Biosphere Reserve is surrounded by deep waters just a few meters off the coast, making it the ideal location to study and observe this elusive marine mammal. Through your kind donations, Sea Shepherd can continue our research of Cuvier’s Beaked whales. 🐋❤️

The @RVMartinSheen is currently on Operation Divina Guadalupe, studying the marine mammals that inhabit the rich waters surrounding Mexico's Guadalupe Island.

In 2005, Guadalupe Island was declared a Biosphere Reserve, providing protection to the animals that inhabit these waters and allowing biodiversity to flourish. Since the onset of this campaign, scientists on board the Martin Sheen have sighted over 450 bottlenose dolphins in Biosphere Reserve.

Sea Shepherd is back in Guadalupe Island, Mexico, for Operation Divina Guadalupe VII!

Guadalupe Island Biosphere Reserve is a largely uninhabited volcanic island, surrounded by the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean. Within its waters, live some of the most spectacular marine species in the world such as great white sharks, northern elephant seals and the elusive Cuvier’s beaked whale.

Great Blue Herons are expert fishers that can be found near the shores of open water and wetlands in most of North and Central America, the Caribbean, and Galapagos Islands. They walk slowly or stand still until their prey is within striking distance, and then use their blade-like bills to swallow fish whole!

Taking a direct action approach to conservation me

Taking a direct action approach to conservation means that the @RVMartinSheen must travel long distances in conditions that could damage the vessel. To prevent this from happening, the crew devotes every hour of every day before leaving on campaign to make sure the Sheen is in its best condition.
