The Sea Shepherd Vancouver Island Chapter began growing in spring 2018 as Vancouver Island’s first chapter-less group! Local volunteer, Lotus Kozak started the efforts with much advice and assistance from the Vancouver Chapter. Since that time, she has been joined by two more coordinators and many volunteers; as well as being happily received by our many supporters. We were made official in June 2019! We are the 6th Canadian chapter and the second in British Columbia!
Sea Shepherd Vancouver Island is passionate about defending, conserving and protecting the oceans, along with all the amazing beings that either live within it, or depend on it. Follow our various social media pages to learn more about what we are up to!
We look forward to meeting our supporters at local events! And we are also looking for more potential volunteers to join with us as we continue to grow! If you want to apply as an onshore volunteer with us (OSV), please go to the link below.
The Vancouver Island Chapter operates all over the island as well as the surrounding islands. We acknowledge this as the unceded territories of the Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth & Kwakwakaʼwakw people.
