What your support made possible
Dear Tomchin Family Foundation, thank you for your continued support of Sea Shepherd's work. Your partnership has helped sustain a permanent presence in one of Mexico's most biologically important marine protected area, where illegal fishing continues to threaten fragile reef ecosystems.
In February, that sustained presence led to a major enforcement action at Scorpion Reef. Working alongside the Mexican Navy and federal authorities, more than seven hundred kilos of illegally caught fish were confiscated and the vessel involved was permanently seized. This was the result of consistent monitoring and operational readiness made possible by partners like you. You can read more about that action here.
In 2026, your support will continue to power vessel operations, fuel, surveillance technology, and joint patrols required to maintain enforcement pressure in remote waters. Sustained presence is what deters illegal operators and protects breeding populations critical to the health of the wider Gulf ecosystem.
We are deeply grateful for your past support and the stability it has provided at Scorpion Reef. Because of your partnership, Sea Shepherd remains on the water, working directly with authorities to protect marine wildlife where enforcement would otherwise be limited. We look forward to building on this momentum together in the year ahead.
