Paul Watson, founder and former President of Sea Shepherd, has been arrested in Nuuk, Greenland. Though Paul stepped down from his leadership role years ago, his arrest brings international attention to the essential and ongoing fight for ocean conservation. We condemn whaling unequivocally and call for the immediate release of Paul Watson.
Sea Shepherd has always stood against the slaughter of whales and dolphins and advocated for their protection. This arrest shifts focus away from the critical work needed to defend these sentient creatures and underscores the difficult, often dangerous paths taken by those who protect marine life.
To amplify this issue, the public can urge U.S. and Japanese Ambassadors, as well as representatives from Denmark and Greenland, to engage with Greenlandic authorities and call for Paul’s release. Donations to Sea Shepherd will continue to fund our ships and missions on the front lines.
