What your support made possible
Dear Winifred Stevens Foundation,
Thank you for your continued support of Sea Shepherd's work in the Southern Ocean. Your partnership helps sustain a presence in Antarctica, one of the most remote and fragile environments on Earth, where wildlife faces growing pressure from industrial fishing and a rapidly changing climate.
Antarctica is best known for its penguins, seals, and whales, but the foundation of this entire ecosystem is krill. As industrial krill fishing expands deeper into the feeding grounds these animals depend on, the pressure ripples upward through the food web. Protecting the Southern Ocean means confronting these threats where they happen, in some of the harshest conditions on the planet.
Our work in these waters is the heart of the mission: documenting fishing activity, gathering evidence, and maintaining a watchful presence in places too remote for most to reach. Every patrol helps hold the line for the wildlife that calls Antarctica home.
In 2026, your support will continue to power vessel operations, fuel, surveillance technology, and the long, demanding voyages required to reach the bottom of the world. Sustained presence is what allows our crews to monitor threats, document them, and advocate for stronger protections for the Antarctic ecosystem.
We are deeply grateful for your support and the stability it provides for our work in the Southern Ocean. Because of your partnership, Sea Shepherd remains on the water, defending Antarctic wildlife where it is most at risk.
