Sea Shepherd established Operation Good Pirates of the Caribbean in September 2017 to bring humanitarian relief supplies to Dominica, the BVI and Antigua and Barbuda after hurricanes Irma and Maria.

“Sea Shepherd Conservation Society helps maintain life forms in the sea. When the seas disrupt mankind on land, Sea Shepherd is there to help bring aid to lives in peril. M/V John Paul DeJoria is being sent in to help the Bahamians recently affected by Hurricane Dorian, the same as we had done about a year ago to lend support to the people of Barbuda. It is the duty of we the people to help one another on this planet. I support and applaud the selfless efforts of Sea Shepherd,” noted Commodore John Paul DeJoria, proud member of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Chairman of John Paul Mitchell Systems.

Over the weekend, M/V John Paul DeJoria loaded humanitarian relief supplies in Miami, Florida. The vessel can transport 30,000 pounds of aid. In Freeport, M/V John Paul DeJoria Captain, Locky MacLean, held a meeting with Miss Stephanie Ferguson, a logistics coordinator for the Bahamian government’s National Emergency Management Agency, to ensure the vessel and its mission were being used in the most effective manner possible. In addition to relief supplies, Sea Shepherd will also carry supplies of dog and cat food for the many homeless dogs and cats on the islands.
