We received the scientists and CONANP officers for the Vaquita Survey at 5:30 and shortly after operations started. Because of the survey operations, we were slightly limited to confirming the activity of the small boats, but most of the ones that were in the center of the ZTA during the morning and afternoon were divers. Some confirmed activity could have changed into potential net fishing activity due to the change in position/direction of the Seahorse. For example, divers that were visible at 15:00 in the Buffer Zone at 16:00 were not visible anymore and therefore, had to be categorized as “potential net fishing”. Between 16:00 and 18:00, there was high activity of small boats in the Vaquita Refuge. Between 25-30 small boats were accounted for, 5 of them crossing towards south towards San Felipe and 3 of the net fishing. At 17:45 the survey finished for the day.
